back to school essentials + a giveaway!!!

back to school

Yes, I know, we still have loads of time before we go back to school. Or so you tell yourself. In actual fact, we only have three weeks and then it's back to the early mornings, the sadness you feel when your alarm rings and you know you have to get up, the brain strain, you get the picture. Now, if you know me, you know I'm never one to be prepared for anything - I'm definitely a last minute kind of girl. But seeing that I'm starting sixth form this year, aka the two most important years of my life so far, I've decided that I want to be that person who's always prepared ahead of time. Hence why I've already purchased a bunch of my back to school stuff. There's some bits that I haven't got yet but those'll have to wait until the end of the month when I get paid. But these are the things I picked up, to go into my schoolbag.

what's in my bag

Soap & Glory Hand Food (£2.50, Boots) is a must for my bag this school year. I'm sure you've all tried it, but for those who haven't know that I absolutely swear by this product. It's actually good at keeping the dry skin off your hands (especially seeing as winter is coming up!!!) and smells amazing. And for me, the best thing of all, is it doesn't have that greasy, sticky residue that some hand creams have. You know when you cream up your hands at school, and you know how it is, you've gotta take notes, so you pick up your pen and go to write something down and then pen just slides out of your hands? I HATE that, but with this cream, you don't get that, which makes it perfect for taking back to school.

Batiste Dry Shampoo (£1.50, Superdrug) is my holy grail. With my hair and washing schedule, I find that my hair becomes greasy towards the end of the week, so this is ideal to have in my bag for those days. Or for after PE, when no ones hair looks nice. I find myself the girl to go to after those lessons. Which means I can be popular for about 10 minutes. haha. No, I'm just kidding, but I seriously love this stuff even though I have to use it sparingly because it makes my scalp kinda dry. But maybe that's just me.

Impulse Sweet Smile spray in Pear and Jasmine (£1.99, Boots) is my favourite Impulse spray. I feel I can honestly say I've tried them all, and this one, in my opinion, smells the best. I'd have this in my school bag just for topping up during the school day, you know. I personally think that smelling great is such an important thing, so having this in my bag can help me with my goal (?? I just want to be known as the girl who smells nice, is that so much to ask for???)

Soap & Glory Hand Maid (£2.50, Boots) again, is one of those things that I rely on daily. Anyone who knows me in real life will know, I'm a clean freak. I cannot stand the idea of germs getting on me, on my food, or in my mouth. Maybe it has something to do with my fear of getting sick. Who knows. But I carry this with me EVERYWHERE, and I mean everywhere. I will literally sanitise my hands before eating anything, even if I've washed them. At least at school, I'm more relaxed at home, but do you know the amount of sicknesses spread around school via door handles etc??? Probably a lot, so I prefer to be on the safe side. I like this one because it smells nice, but the Body Shop ones also smell amazing.

back to school, school bag essentials, what's in my school bag

Natural Collection Lash Definition Mascara (£1.99, Boots) is the perfect school day mascara. If you're anything like me, and don't bother to make a huge effort for school, then this is for you. I mean, I like to look nice, but you'll rarely see me in a full face of makeup if I'm going to school. A bit of concealer, a bit of mascara and Bob's your Uncle. I like to keep this one in my bag for if I was in a rush in the morning and forgot, or if, say, I have something on after school and I want to look slightly better than average. I don't feel the need to bring an expensive mascara to school because more likely than not, I'm gonna lose it, or someones gonna take it, so best not to spend too much on it.

Notebook (Sainsbury's) Every single year since I started secondary school, I've bought myself a notebook to keep in my bag, in case I need to write something down, and in those 5 years, I don't think I've written in it once, What always ends up happening is that I spill water in my bag and the notebook gets ruined. But I'll have one this year anyway, you know, they're always on sale in the back to school sales.

school bag essentials

And lastly, I have this Jack Wills toiletries bag which I would use to store private things in, like tampons, pads, paracetamol/nurofen, etc, you know, just girly things. That way, I've always got them with me, and if anyone else needs one, I can lend them out. It always helps to be prepared.

So those are the things that I'm taking back to school with me, all the things that I think are the main things any girl needs in her school bag.
BUT WAIT,,,, THERE'S MORE

How would you like to be in with a chance of winning EVERYTHING that I mentioned above? I bought two of everything, and so I'm giving all of it away, to one of my beautiful readers, and all you have to do is enter using the thingy ma bob below.
(Unfortunately, due to shipping costs, this is a UK only giveaway, but international readers, stay tuned for future giveaways!)
The rules are simple: the more things you do, the more entries you have, and the higher your chance of winning. The giveaway ends on the 31st of August, and I will email the winner either that day or the next day. You will have until the 4th of September to reply to the email, or I will choose another winner. I will aim to post the package the next day (I'll try my hardest!!!) That way you can have it as close to the beginning of school as possible.

Anyway, good luck, and I hope you like the giveaway!
